wedding-grapevineThe grapevines are flourishing right now—and will remain at their peak through the summer and into October… what a GREAT time to get married in the Southern California Wine Country! The location of your wedding is one of the most important elements of your wedding as it sets the scene, ambiance, and visual beauty of the nuptials. The verdant beauty of vineyards with cascading grape clusters offers the perfect background for photo memories that will last a lifetime. Not to say that the vines compete with the beautiful bride, but it sure does enhance the glow she emits on her special day! The unique landscape of vines is only found in a few regions in California. Temecula is a hotbed of wedding vineyards and locations offering many alternatives in price and overall atmosphere.
Many brides incorporate fresh fruits (including clusters of grapes) into centerpieces and décor elements. Wilson Creek Winery offers gazebos with a lush vineyard backdrop and large flower baskets that say summer. The comfortable and elegant ceremony location offers padded crisp white chairs with wine barrels to adorn the surroundings. Not far behind the ceremony are the neat little rows of green wonder dripping with grapes—soon to be drinkable and delicious wine. Temecula’s hot days and cool nights are not only ideal for growing grapes but perfect weddings. We get a wonderfully refreshing afternoon ocean breeze, which cools us down from the hot summer sun, just in time for a 6pm ceremony; sunset is around 8pm during summer, so the wedding and cocktail reception takes place during the cool part of the day.
Evenings are magical and especially nice for guests from out of town who otherwise cannot enjoy the starry So Cal nights. “You can see the stars out in the Temecula wine country because we do not have a lot of city lights around,” boasts Mindy Smith of Wilson Creek Winery. Selecting wine country offers many enjoyable memories and a good time to be had by all!
