2015 Balloon & Wine Festival Brings Big Headliners Daughtry and Chris Young, Plus Parking and Schedule Changes

When the 2015 Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival opens their gates this May 29-31, there will be a few layout and schedule changes designed to improve the guest experience.

Festival organizers announced last month that rock band Daughtry and Country star Chris Young will headline the Festival. To accommodate fans of these dominant concert stars, organizers switched overflow camping with the area that has been used previously for overflow parking.

“This change will prevent traffic through campgrounds during the exit,” Andrea Jacobson, operations manager for the event stated. Overflow parking was behind Campground A in the past, making it a long wait to exit and meaning traffic was flowing past Campground A and the Overflow Camping that was nearest to the main exits.

Additionally the Festival management team is staggering event and concert start times. This will result in having events like the evening balloon glow and main headliner concert start and conclude at distinctly different times. “This will reduce the amount of cars funneling out at the end of the evening,” stated 2015 Festival Chairman and CEO Scott Vinton.

“We want our guests to have a premium experience at the Festival and improving the traffic flow through tweaks in the schedules and parking layout is paramount to this goal,” Vinton added. Vinton is a civil engineer.

Saturday is often the busiest day at the three-day Festival and this year Daughtry brings a strong following. A band carrying the name of the lead singer and guitarist Chris Daughtry, with four No. 1 hits, four Grammy nominations, four American Music Awards, and over 8 million albums sold, has sold out concerts around the world. Daughtry will headline the Rocking Wine Country Saturday concert lineup.

Chris Daughtry gained notoriety during “American Idol” Season 5 where he placed fourth and immediately signed with RCA Records. Hits include “Home,” “Feels Like Tonight,” “What About Now,” “No Surprise,” “Crawling Back to You,” and “It’s Not Over.” Daughtry’s self-titled debut was the fastest selling rock debut in Soundscan history and its follow up “Leave This Town” marked the quintet’s second consecutive No. 1 album. Daughtry’s third album “Break The Spell” was certified gold within four weeks of its release. “Baptized,” Daughtry’s fourth album peaked at No. 3 with the singles “Waiting for Superman,” and “Long Live Rock &Roll.” The single “Witness” was released February 20, 2015.

Country sensation Chris Young will headline the Pechanga Main Stage on Sunday. At the age of 29, Young, was dubbed as “one of country music’s most reliable hitmakers” by USA Today. A Grammy-nominated recording artist, Young plays a powerhouse show packed with hits, including chart toppers “Gettin’ You Home,” “The Man I Want To Be,” “Voices,” “Tomorrow,” “You” and “Who I Am With You.” He’s amassed six #1 singles, seven Gold/Platinum certifications and performed for audiences ranging from ABC’s “Good Morning America” to Australia and Dublin to “The Late Show with David Letterman.” His current hit “Lonely Eyes” has been rising on the Billboard Country Charts and currently sits at No. 8.

Sunday’s main stage concert is a departure from the Freestyle Motocross show normally presented. “We had the opportunity to bring a great star like Chris Young to Southern California Wine Country and took it,” said Jacobson.

“Our goal has been to improve the guest experience and our Country Friday has been extremely popular,” stated CEO Vinton. “We are proud to bring a country act as popular as Chris Young to the community. We hit the bull’s eye dead center with this,” he added.
