Rotary Club Welcomes New President
The Rotary Club of Temecula is pleased to introduce Dr. Jeanne Mc- Clellan as the new club president. Dr. Jeanne was recently inducted as president during the club’s annual demotion celebration, a time-honored “roasting” of the outgoing president and installation of the incoming president and board of directors. In good-humored style, fellow Rotarians and friends gave a traditionally offbeat farewell to outgoing president Rusty Manning in a pokeand- joke theatrical production of Up, Up and Away! The ceremonial demotion was followed by an annual awards presentation and the official induction of Dr. Jeanne McClellan, who will lead the club for one year beginning July 1, 2009.Dr. Jeanne is no stranger to leadership and community involvement. She holds a Doctor of Education degree in Organizational Leadership from University of La Verne, a Master’s degree in Organizational Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management, both from University of Phoenix. Dr. Jeanne is an adjunct professor at the University of Redlands School of Business in Temecula as well as two other universities in Southern California where she teaches undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses primarily in organizational behavior, leadership, ethics, and business.
Her community leadership roles include serving as Secretary of the board of directors of the Southwest Community Development Organization; Second Vice-President of the Murrieta Temecula Group; Eastern Municipal Water District director’s advisory board; and public affairs director for the Murrieta Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Dr. Jeanne joined the Rotary Club of Temecula in 2006 and immediately became involved in various service projects at both club and district levels. For the past three years she has served as the Rotary District 5330 World Peace Fellowship chair. Her many and diverse positions in organizational leadership inspires Dr. Jeanne to further Rotary Club of Temecula’s long history of humanitarian service projects.
Rotary Club of Temecula has served the communities in and around Temecula, as well as those in other countries, since 1975. A few of the club’s many long-standing service projects include fundraising for local high-school student scholarships; collecting food and delivering holiday food baskets and gifts to those less fortunate; donating new and gently-used bicycles to children; and launching the club’s newest literacy project: Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Some notable international projects sponsored by the Rotary Club of Temecula include contributing toward global polio eradication, hosting international exchange students, sponsoring World Peace Fellows, aiding in the child/infant feeding program in Kabale, Africa, and supporting a Tijuana orphanage with financial aid and volunteer services.
